Doctor Labarta graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Zaragoza with an outstanding score in 2000. Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at La Paz Hospital, Madrid, 2001-2005. During 2007 and 2008 she studied the Master’s Degree in Research Methodology: Design and Statistics in Health Sciences (Diploma) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She studied the Master’s Degree in Advanced Endoscopic Surgery, University of Valencia in 2009. She obtained her PhD in the University of Valencia in September 2004. Her dissertation, entitled “Influence of ovarian stimulation during an IVF treatment on the incidence of embryonic aneuploidies”, obtained a Cum Laude distinction and was proposed for Extraordinary Award. In 2015 she obtained the level 2 in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery by the European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery and by the ESGE (European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy) through the GESEA (Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgical Education and Assessment) program.

She has worked at IVI Valencia since 2005.

Doctor Labarta is medical coordinator and professor of the Master’s Degree in Biotechnology of Assisted Human Reproduction, and associate professor of the following courses Online Master’s Degree in theoretical basis and assisted reproduction laboratory procedures; Master’s Degree in Infertility: Psychosocial, medical and legal aspects; Master’s Degree in Human Reproduction and Master’s Degree in the Biotechnology of Human Assisted Reproduction and Embryology.

As a co-author, Doctor Labarta received the Scientific Program Award at the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) in 2008.

She received the Foro Europa 2001 Award for her professional career on the 25th September 2015.

Awarded with the Red Cross of the Order of the Custodian Knights of Calatrava la Vieja for professional achievement on September 25, 2021.

Dr Labarta works at IVI Valencia since 2005. She has participated as a researcher in numerous clinical research projects, including phase II and phase III clinical trials, she has published over 50 scientific articles and over 45 book chapters based on the field of in vitro fertilisation and has offered over 150 presentations in courses and conferences at national and international level. She is a member of the IVI Research Projects Committee and a reviewer of the following international scientific journals: Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics (JARG), Reproductive Biomedicine Journal Online (RBM), Reproductive Biology, Ovarian Rejuvenation and Endocrinology European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Reproductive Biology International Journal of Fertility and Sterility (IJFS).
